Generic Git hooks

By using a hook, you can trigger a build for every git push you make so your team will get instant access to the latest version of your app — automatically!

If you are not hosting your repository on Github or Bitbucket, then setting up the hook can be a bit more challenging.

Configuring generic Git hooks.

When you navigate to the Hooks section on Nevercode, a download hook button is displayed. Clicking this button downloads a post-receive script file. This file must be added to your main Git repository where you push your changes, not your locally checked out version.

Finally, you need to add this file to the .git/hooks folder which is located at the root of your main Git repository and make the script executable by running

chmod +x post-receive
